Registration : Registered with the Registrar of Societies, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. (No.3614, dated 28th July, 1997)

Aims & Objectives:

a) To promote the cause of advanced study in all branches of geochemistry, especially with their applications for the benefit of  mankind      (Applied Geochemistry).
b) To cooperate with existing Academies, Societies and Institutes having similar objectives for the advancement of science and social      benefit in India, and with other such associations and bodies when founded.
c)  To promote the cause of research and training in Applied Geochemistry and related fields in India.
d) To organize workshops and conferences on subjects of interest and importance for the advancement of knowledge on Applied      Geochemistry in India.
e)  To represent Internationally the scientific work of India in the field of Applied Geochemistry and related fields.
f)  To secure grants, funds and endowments, and mobilize funds and resources for the furtherance of the study and Research in  Applied      Geochemistry in India.
g)  To undertake and execute all other acts which shall promote the aims and objectives of the Society.
h)  To start the Journal of Applied Geochemistry.

Membership:

The society will have six classes of membership
(1) Annual Members (2) Life Members (3) Student Members (4) Institutional Members (5) Corporate Members (6) Honorary Members
(7) Foreign Members.

Membership Fee Structure:


Privileges of members:

Members shall have right to vote, nominate, and stand for election to the council. They shall also have the right to propose, second, or support candidates for election to the Membership. They shall be entitled to receive the journal of the society as gratis.

Note: only members in good standing i.e., those who have paid all their dues to the society in accordance with the rules laid down above, shall be entitled to the above privileges.

Honorary members shall have all privileges of the members, except that they cannot vote, nominate, stand, or otherwise participate in any of the elections.

Student members shall have all privileges of the members, except that they cannot vote, nominate, stand, or otherwise participate in any of the elections.

Financial Resources: Membership fee, donations, subventions, grants, etc. from central and state governments, universities, industrial organisations, etc.

Official Year of the Society:  1st April to 31st March

Management:  The affairs of the society shall be administered by the “Executive Council” consisting of

(a) President                                (e) Treasurer
(b) Four Vice-Presidents                (f)  Foreign Secretary
(c) Secretary                                (g) Corporate Secretary
(d) Joint Secretary                        (h) Executive Council (17 Members)

Term of the Executive Council:

The term of the Executive Council shall be for a period of three years.

Financial Resources: Membership fee, donations, subventions, grants, etc. from central and state governments, universities, industrial organisations, etc.

Journal of Applied Geochemistry: The publication is the official Journal of the Indian Society of Applied Geochemists.

Aims & Scope:

The Journal of Applied Geochemistry is aimed at promoting high quality research publications from related fields covering broadly:

The list is only a sample of fields to be covered. Outstanding articles from other related fields also will be accepted. The journal provides        the forum to integrate studies from various fields of Geochemistry on different topics of larger perspectives in Earth Science.

Circulation:

The journal is published bi-annually and reaches a wide spectrum of researchers, academicians, students, universities/institutes at the national and international level. The journal appears in A-4 size with high international standards and an editorial board comprising eminent geochemists/earth scientists.
